Orientador: Ana Mariza Benedetti / Banca: John Robert Schmitz / Banca: Marilei Amadeu Sabino / Resumo: Esta pesquisa, de cunho etnográfico, tem como objetivo investigar representações sociais de língua(gem) e ensino e aprendizagem de língua estrangeira de uma professora de ensino fundamental, dentro de um contexto de escola pública, em uma cidade do interior de Mato Grosso do Sul. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas, de aulas e sessões reflexivas, gravadas em áudio e vídeo, questionário aplicado aos aprendizes e diários de observação do pesquisador. Os resultados mostram que a participante apresenta uma representação de língua(gem) com características essencialmente estruturalistas, assim como sua prática apresenta uma representação bastante tradicional de ensino de língua inglesa. Com relação ao aprendizes, observou-se que os mesmos são vistos pela professora como sujeitos passivos dentro do processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Pode-se afirmar que as representações sociais trazidas pela participante são calcadas na sua formação, na política educacional local e no posicionamento das pessoas que se interagem dentro daquele contexto. / Abstract: This research of ethnographic nature aims at showing social representations related to the teaching -learning process within a municipal public context, in a countryside city in Mato Grosso do Sul state. The investigation has had the participation of an elementary school teacher. Thus, social representations related to conceptions of language, teaching and learning and how the learners are seen are shown. The data have been collected through interviews, reflective sessions and classes recorded in audio and video, and also through a questionnaire applied to the learners and the researcher's observation notes. The results show that the participant has a structural representation of language as well as her representation of teaching and learning is underlied by traditional aspects. Concerning her learners, it is possible to say that they play the role of passive agents in the learning process. Therefore, as a result, it is possible to infer that the teacher's social representations are a consequence of her education, of the local educational politics and the posture of those who interact in that context. / Mestre
