This thesis is focused on the form of theoretical and practical preparation of teachers of primary and secondary schools in Bohemia in the second half of the "long" 19th century. Acquainted with contemporary legislation, curriculum of teacher-training institutes, primary and secondary schools and addresses the contemporary teaching methodologies whose knowledge was requirement for completing teacher-training institutes and teachers qualification exams. These sources are also linked with the written legacy and memories of five contemporary teachers.
