Effects of an iPad-Based Augmentative and Alternative Communication Intervention on Wh-Question Answering Skills of an Adolescent with Autism Spectrum Disorders

A multiple baseline design across three types of wh- questions was used to examine the effects of an intervention package in teaching wh- question answering skills to an adolescent with ASD. The intervention package consisted of a combination of (1) an iPad-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) application, Proloquo2Go; (2) a least-to-most prompting hierarchy; (3) interval reinforcement; (4) cue cards; and (5) question related visuals.
