This case study of the analogy industry, comparing Texas Instrument and Richtek is divided into seven chapters. Chapter one will discuss the overall analog industry and how it is correlated to the consumer, communication, and computing end markets. It will then be followed by chapter two and three which will describe Texas Instruments’ and Richtek’s current company situation and their future business plans. Chapter four will begin to analyze these two companies using ratio analysis. Chapter five will then discuss how players in the industry have not buit capacity in the past five years and how it will affect their margins in the future. In chapter six Porter’s five force analysis will be implemented to demonstrated the industries strengths and weaknesses and then how each of the two companies fit into these scenarios. Finally in chapter seven, given the information we look to see what may happen to both Richtek and Texas Instruments.
