Cargo 1, es una empresa fundada el año 2002 por los hermanos Zárate Beraún que
empezó a operar con el alquiler de equipos pesados, identificando en el mercado de
transportes y mercancías una oportunidad de incursión en la región central del Perú. Al pasar
de los años, llegan a convertirse en una empresa líder del sector, por lo que el objetivo de este
Business Consulting es identificar oportunidades de mejora para la empresa Cargo 1.
Para identificar el problema principal de la empresa se realizaron visitas presenciales
en grupo a las instalaciones de la empresa ubicada en la ciudad de Huancayo, siendo el
problema central las demoras en el proceso de selección y segmentación de encomiendas en
la penúltima milla; en consiguiente, se usó el diagrama de Ishikawa para identificar las
causas principales de las demoras: (a) el ambiente e infraestructura inadecuado, (b) la falta de
software, y (c) la alta rotación de personal. Después del análisis y ponderación se determinó
que la mejor solución consiste en mejorar las condiciones de infraestructura civil - estructural
en la zona de almacenamiento y patio de maniobra del local principal. Además, fue
estipulado que para la ejecución de la propuesta se tendría una inversión de S/ 412,380, lo
cual alcanzaría resultados positivos en la evaluación financiera del VAN y TIR considerando
una proyección de cinco años, en tal sentido, se estima que la recuperación de inversión sería
en corto plazo, con un crecimiento de ventas para el primer año equivalente al 5%. / Cargo 1, is a company founded in 2002 by the Zárate Beraún brothers that began
operating with the rental of heavy equipment, identifying an opportunity to enter the central
region of Peru in the transport and merchandise market. Over the years, they have become a
leading company in the sector, so the objective of this Business Consulting is to identify
improvement opportunities for the Cargo 1 company.
To identify the main problem of the company, group visits were made to the
company´s facilities located in the city of Huancayo; the main problem being the delays in
the selection and segmentation process of parcels in the penultimate mile; therefore, the
Ishikawa diagram was used to identify the main causes of delays: (a) inadequate environment
and infrastructure, (b) lack of software, and (c) high staff turnover. After the analysis and
consideration, it was determined that the best solution consists of improving the conditions of
civil-structural infrastructure in the storage area and maneuvering yard of the main premises.
In addition, it was stipulated that for the execution of the proposal there would be an
investment of S/ 412,380, which would achieve positive results in the financial evaluation of
the VAN and IRR considering a projection of five years, in this sense, it is estimated that the
recovery of investment would be in the short term, with sales growth for the first year
equivalent to 5%.
