Databaser är något som i dagens företagarsamhälle har kommit att bli väldigt viktigt då det läggs ner stora resurser i form av både tid och pengar på att arbeta fram en databas som blir en företagsprodukt. Därav krävs att dessa databaser kan skyddas på ett för databasproducenten tillfredställande sätt, samtidigt som samhällets intresse av att får ta del av dessa verk skall tillgodoses. För att harmonisera lagstiftningen i Europa antogs det så kallade databasdirektivet 1996 enligt vilket en databas kan skyddas på olika sätt. Med hjälp av ett fiktivt fall analyseras de olika skyddens objekt och innehåll. / Databases has become very important assets for today’s companies and a lot of time and money is spent on producing databases. Therefore a producer of a databases needs an appropriate protection, at the same time as the society’s right to take part of these works must be satisfied. To harmonize the legislation in Europe the so called database directive was adopted in 1996, according to which databases can be protected in different ways. By means of a fictitious case the object and scope of the different protections are analysed.
