The thesis deals with comparison of server virtualization platforms with needs of Mendel University. Real tests of each selected virtualization platform are per-formed as required by the Department of Information Technology. Based on the test results, a suitable solution for the university is suggested and costs of deploy-ing and operating of various virtualization platforms are economically evaluated.
