Previous issue date: 2005-07-05 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar os impactos ambientais e sociais na paisagem urbana, contextualizando-os por meio de segregações no Bairro Nova Viçosa, Viçosa, Minas Gerais. Para tal, foram feitas visitas periódicas ao bairro, conversas informais com os moradores, entrevistas semi- estruturadas, através do método da “Bola de Neve” – onde um morador indica o outro na pesquisa, além de revisão de literatura específica, análise de aero- fotografias, mapas, fotos e consultas a órgãos públicos (Prefeitura Municipal de Viçosa, IBGE, SAAE e ONGs). Foi montado um check-list (listagem de controle), o qual identificou pontos positivos e negativos da paisagem do bairro, sugerindo-se as respectivas medidas potencializadoras e mitigadoras. Como resultado verificou-se que todo o processo de construção, formação e transformação da paisagem urbana é movido por impactos ambientais e segregações socioeconômicas e culturais, alterando cenários na paisagem. O Bairro Nova Viçosa é testemunho real de segregação ambiental, social, econômica e cultural, além de ser palco de uma série de alterações paisagísticas, que vem descaracterizando o meio ambiente local, com sérios e evidentes prejuízos à qualidade de vida de seus moradores e freqüentadores. / The objective of the present work was to evaluate the environmental and social impacts in the urban landscape, assembling them together by means of segregations in the No va Viçosa District, Viçosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. To accomplish this, periodical visits were made to the district, with informal talks with dwellers, and partially structured interviews through the “Snow-Ball” method, that is, where a dweler indicates another one in the research, as well as reviews of specific literature, analyses of aerial photografies, maps and photografies and consultation at public entities [Town Hall of the Viçosa Municipality – “Prefeitura Municipal de Viçosa”), IBGE (Geographic and Statistical Brazilian Institute), SAAE (Water and Serverage Autonomous Service), ONG’s], A chek-list was made up that verified positive and negative points of the district landscape, suggesting potentiallizing and mitigatory measures, respectively. As a result it was verified that all constructions, and the formation and transformation process of the urban-landscape cause environmental impacts and social, economic and cultural segregations, changing the landscape scenery. The Nova Viçosa District is an actual proof of environmental, social, economic and cultural segregation, as well as being subjected to a series of landscape changes that have been depriving the local environmental of its characteristics, with severe and evident damages to the quality of life of its dwellers and visitors. / Não foi localizado o cpf do autor.
