The paper is devided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of motivation in physical education and problems of adolescents and their specifics at this time. The practical part is focused on interpreting the results based on a designed questionnaire. The questionnaire survey was conducted among pupils of secondary vocational school Novovysočanská in Prague with the purpose of obtaining information about the motivation of these students to physical education and sport, the frequency of representation of spor active pupils compared to the physically inactive ones and their actual interest in physical education, sport and physical activity.
