<p>Abstract</p><p>This essay consists of an analytical study of three present-day Swedish films depiction of teenage life. From these films we like to see how youths are described, what attributes they are given, in shape of attire and different symbolic items, such as language and body expressions. The essay emphasizes which values that dominates among the illustrated teenage groups and compares it to the values and expectations that we can derive from an adult society. Here we let the school’s main determining base documents, Lpo 94 and Lpf 94, represent the dominating values of the society.</p><p>Our hypothesis is that media, and also these films, creates images that affects the societies comprehension of teenagers and also how teens see themselves. Overall, which images and stereotypes that young and adults wrestle with. We want to show illustrated values and standards that teens meet in the schools and vice versa and also what kind of image the main determining base documents give of what the youths shall become.</p><p>The comprehensive method used is based on analysis of what norms and values that are supplied through the three chosen films and the school main determining base documents, Lpo 94 and Lpf 94, and to compare the results. The comparison is based upon theoretical competence within the social psychology and culture analytical perspective.</p><p>The analysis concluded that the school main determining base documents to some extent meet the youth characters thoughts. However, the documents also emphasize some controversial human characteristics, which not completely comply with the youth’s views and opinions.</p> / <p>Sammanfattning</p><p>Den här uppsatsen består av en analytisk studie av tre nutida svenska ungdomsfilmers skildring av ungdomars liv. I filmerna utläses vilka attribut som tillges de unga karaktärerna, i form av klädsel och olika symboliska föremål, språk och kroppen som uttrycksmedel. Uppsatsen framhäver vilka värden som dominerar bland ungdomsgrupper och sätter det i förhållande till de värden och förväntningar som vi kan utläsa ur ett illustrerat vuxensamhälle. Denna bild av vuxensamhället låter vi skolornas politiska styrdokument, Lpo 94 och Lpf 94, representera.</p><p>Tanken är att dessa filmer skapar bilder som påverkar hur samhället runtomkring ser på ungdomar och även hur unga ser på sig själva. Helt enkelt vilka bilder och stereotyper som unga och vuxensamhället brottas med. Vi vill visa på illustrerade värderingar som ungdomar stöter på i skolan respektive skolan stöter på med ungdomar och titta på vad läroplanerna ger för bild av hur unga skall vara och bli.</p><p>Den övergripande metodologin ligger i att analysera vilka normer och värden som förmedlas i de tre filmerna vi valt, samt göra detsamma med skolornas styrdokument, Lpo 94 och Lpf 94, och att jämföra resultaten däremellan. Detta görs utifrån vår teoretiska förtrogenhet som ligger i det socialpsykologiska och det kulturanalytiska perspektivet.</p><p>Analysen ledde till en slutsats av att läroplanerna till viss del tillmötesgår ungdomskaraktärernas tankar. Men läroplanerna understryker också några särskilda mänskliga kvalitéer, som inte helt går hand i hand med de meningar som ungdomsgrupperna förmedlar.</p>
