El objetivo de la investigación es determinar y medir el Índice de Progreso Social
(IPS) del distrito de El Agustino, para saber cómo ha avanzado y cuál es su posición en
comparación con el promedio nacional y regional de Lima. La información se recopilará a
través de encuestas a una muestra representativa a los hogares, y se calculará el índice de
progreso social del distrito de El Agustino. En el Perú no se cuenta con IPS del distrito de El
Agustino, por lo que se realizó una investigación de tipo cuantitativa, no experimental y
alcance descriptivo para el distrito, lo cual marca un punto de partida para el beneficio de los
ciudadanos.
Este Índice de Progreso Social permitirá conocer de manera desagregada los
componentes que componen el bienestar de su población. También permitirá desarrollar y
comprender las tres dimensiones que cubre: (a) necesidades humanas básicas, (b)
fundamentos del bienestar, y (c) oportunidades.
Para la clasificación de los resultados se ha tomado la escala definida por el Índice de
Progreso Social, que va desde el rango de cero a 100 puntos. El resultado del IPS del distrito
de El Agustino tiene el puntaje de 54.70, lo cual indica que tiene un Índice de Progreso Social
clasificado como Bajo. Este puntaje se obtuvo con el promedio de los resultados de sus tres
dimensiones los cuales fueron: (a) necesidad humanas básicas con un puntaje de 57.95
clasificado como Medio Bajo, (b) fundamentos de bienestar con un puntaje de 45.25
clasificado como Bajo, y (c) oportunidades con un puntaje de 60.88 clasificado como Medio
Bajo, como se puede apreciar las dimensiones oportunidades y necesidades humanas básicas
tienen el mayor puntaje con una clasificación Medio Bajo para ambas y por último la
dimensión fundamentos de bienestar clasificado como Bajo.
Para poder tener estos resultados se zonifico el distrito en tres zonas cuyos resultados
fueron: zona 1 con un IPS de 52.81 puntos clasificado como Bajo, zona 2 con un IPS de 51.78 puntos clasificado como Bajo y zona 3 con un IPS de 59.50 puntos clasificado como
Medio Bajo.
Esta investigación ayudará a ver de manera objetiva los indicadores que el distrito de
El Agustino necesita mejorar cuantificándolo a través del IPS que se obtuvo, el cual está
clasificado como Bajo, además ayudará a las autoridades municipales a tomar decisiones y
acciones que ayudará a mejorar sus indicadores sociales y ambientales de esta manera puedan
mejorar su vida y oportunidades de los ciudadanos del distrito de El Agustino. / The objective of the research is to determine and measure the Social Progress Index
(SPI) of the Agustino district, to find out how progress has been made and what is your
position in comparison with the national and regional average of Lima. The information will
be collected through of surveys to a representative sample households, and calculate the
social progress index of the Agustino district. In Peru there is not SPI of the Agustino district,
so was realized an investigation of non-experimental quantitative type and powerful
descriptive for the district, which marks a point of departure for benefit of citizens.
This Social Progress Index will allow to know the components that make up the wellbeing
of its population disaggregated way. It will also develop and understand the three
dimensions that covers: (a) basic human needs, (b) foundations of welfare, and (c)
opportunities.
For the classification of the results has been taken the scale defined by the Social
progress index, which goes from zero to 100 points range. The result of the SPI of the
Agustino district has score of 54.70, which indicates that it has a Social Progress Index
classified as low. This score was obtained with the average of the results of their three
dimensions which were: (a) need for human basic with a score of 57.95 classed as medium
low, (b) fundamentals of wellness with a score of 45.25 classed as medium low, and (c)
opportunities with a score of 60.88 classed as low, as you can see the dimension opportunities
and basic human needs have the highest score with a low rating for both and finally the basics
of well-being dimension classified as low.
In order to have these results the district was zoned in three areas whose results were:
zone 1 with an SPI of 52.81 points classified as low, zone 2 with an SPI of 51.78 points
classified as low and zone 3 with an SPI of 59.50 points classified as medium low. This research will help to objectively see the indicators that the Agustino district in
need of improvement by quantifying it through SPI that was obtained, which is classified as
low, in addition it will help municipal authorities to make decisions and actions to improve
their social and environmental indicators, in this way it can improve their lives and
opportunities of the Agustino district citizens. / Tesis
