Vilken information kan en streckkod ge? : En undersökning om möjligheten för att skapa en tillförlitlig livsmedelsapplikation.

Problem area: There are a wide variety of health applications with varied information. The common denominator for these is that they are not updated or controlled by any authority. Method: Through legislation, interviews and email contacts with actors in the food industry, we have confirmed that there is information about products. We've searched for existing applications to see what information is being served to the user through this type of channel. Results: We have found that there is a company that has a large and relatively detailed database of foods. We consider that the Swedish government should controls to assure the information that exists. This to ensure an application ́s reliability Conclution: We were surprised at the Swedish food agency ́s ignorance regarding their own database and the large database provided by GS1, used by the major food chains. We think it would be desirable if there was a large and safe-controlled food databas. This could make the information more accessible and safe for consumes. We also see that it would be the producers ́ responsabilitet to register their products in this databas before the product is released on to the market. The voluntary information contained in today ́s food databases should be made mandatory.
