Previous issue date: 2018-05-18 / The aim of this research is to highlight the work of the architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha in the field of scenography for the theater and opera.
Since the 1990’s, the architect’s production has been consistent although little known, especially that in partnership with director Bia Lessa, designing mobile stage settings having great symbolic impact.
We will cover the seven scenarios designed by the architect seeking to understand the procedures and concepts contained in his creation process.
The studies will be elaborated in an individual way and, from the understanding of the parties, we will try to understand the whole, debugging the way in which the architect thought about the space in architecture and in another materiality. / A presente pesquisa pretende divulgar a obra do arquiteto Paulo Mendes da Rocha em um viés pouco conhecido, o campo da cenografia para teatro e ópera.
Desde a década de 1990, o arquiteto vem desenvolvendo uma consistente produção no âmbito da cenografia, sobretudo em parceria com a diretora Bia Lessa.
Nesta pesquisa percorreremos os sete cenários projetados pelo arquiteto, buscando compreender os procedimentos e conceitos contidos em seu processo de criação.
Os estudos serão elaborados de forma individual e, a partir do entendimento das partes, buscaremos compreender o todo, depurando o modo do arquiteto pensar o espaço na arquitetura ou em outra materialidade.
