1 Abstract Copyrighted work on the Internet (liability of parties, enforcement of copyrights) The topic of this thesis is the legal regulation and protection of copyrighted works on the Internet with a focus on liability relations and subsequent copyright enforcement. The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relevant legislation, including EU legislation, and provide insight into this rapidly evolving topic. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The general part of the thesis, which consists of the first three chapters, defines the basic institutes and concepts that are related to the topic. The first chapter introduces the principles and characteristics of copyright and defines its main subject - the copyrighted work, including the various types of copyrighted works and ways of their use. The second chapter focuses on the Internet, both from a technical and legal point of view. The third chapter analyzes in more detail the individual entities that operate on the Internet. Particular attention is paid to the ISPs (Internet service providers), who have a significant influence in determining liability and copyright enforcement.
