Previous issue date: 2017-09-20 / O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar estrat?gias de concilia??o trabalho-fam?lia adotadas por professores universit?rios, associando-as ? centralidade atribu?da ao trabalho por parte desses participantes. A amostra foi formada por168 professores, localizados na cidade de Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte. As informa??es foram coletadas por meio da aplica??o online de um instrumento padronizado sobre estrat?gias de concilia??o, semanticamente adaptado para a realidade brasileira, em conjunto a uma escala de centralidade do trabalho. Os dados foram analisados por meio de t?cnicas multivariadas e de associa??o entre m?dias. Os resultados indicaram que as cinco estrat?gias de concilia??o previstas no modelo original da escala se mantiveram empiricamente com esses participantes, a saber: perspectiva positiva sobre a situa??o de dupla-renda; apoio emocional m?tuo; ajustes profissionais; compet?ncias de gest?o e planejamento; e apoio institucional. O fator apoio emocional destaca-se como o mais importante, levando-se em conta a an?lise de m?dias. Centralidade do trabalho n?o se mostrou relacionada com a maioria dos fatores, exceto com o fator apoio emocional. A pesquisa sugere que tal achado faz sentido te?rico, na medida em que estrat?gias de concilia??o implicam justamente na interconex?o entre esferas, no caso, fam?lia e trabalho. / This study aims to investigate strategies of work-family conciliation adopted by university professors in a capital city of Northeast Brazil, associating it with the centrality attributed to the work by these participants. Sample was formed by 168 professors located in the city of XXXX, in the XX. Information was collected through the online application of a standardized instrument on conciliation strategies, adapted semantically to the Brazilian reality, together with a centrality scale of work. Data were analyzed using multivariate techniques and association between means. Results have indicated that the five conciliation strategies foreseen in the original model from which the scale was derived remain empirically with these participants, namely: a positive perspective on the dual income situation; mutual emotional support; professional adjustments; management and planning skills; and institutional support. The emotional support factor has stood out as the most important, taking into account the analysis of means. Centrality of work was not related to most factors, except with the emotional support factor. This paper suggests that this finding makes theoretical sense, insofar as conciliation strategies imply precisely the interconnection between family and work spheres.
