Introducción: La anemia infantil continúa siendo un problema de salud pública grave en el Perú (40,1%) a pesar de las diferentes medidas adoptadas por el Ministerio de Salud.
Objetivo: Determinar si las redes egocéntricas influyen en el conocimiento sobre anemia de las madres encuestadas.
Métodos: Este estudio se realizó por medio de una red egocéntrica, donde se obtuvo datos de un cuestionario aplicado a 200 madres de niños entre 6 a 35 meses de edad (egos) que acudan a 5 establecimientos de la Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud (DIRIS) de Lima Sur, elegidas por conveniencia y sus 10 alters más importantes. Se aplicó regresión logística jerárquica en el programa R Studio®.
Resultados: Se asoció con conocimiento básico de anemia: grado de instrucción superior de la madre (OR:2,21 IC95%:1,27-4,20), uso de 2 o más redes sociales (OR:2 IC95%:1,20-3,33), madre que investiga sobre anemia en dos o más fuentes (OR:1,78 IC95%:1,14-2,78), hijo diagnosticado de anemia (OR:0,33 IC95%:0,20-0,55). Con el conocimiento sobre la duración de la suplementación y tratamiento de anemia se relacionaron: diagnóstico de anemia del hijo (OR: 1,70 IC95%:1,05-2,73), hijo que recibe suplementación (OR: 2,02 IC95%:1,47-2,78) y tratamiento de anemia (OR:2,29 IC95%:1,45-3,62).
Conclusiones: La composición y la estructura de la red no estuvieron asociados con el conocimiento de la madre sobre anemia. Asimismo, las características de la madres se asoció con un mejor conocimiento de anemia, así como el uso de redes sociales. / Introduction: Childhood anemia continues to be a serious public health problem in Peru (40,1%); despite the different measures adopted by the Ministerio de Salud.
Objective: Determine if egocentric networks influence the knowledge about anemia of the surveyed mothers.
Methods: This study was carried out through an egocentric network, where data were obtained from a questionnaire applied to 200 mothers of children between 6 and 35 months of age (egos) who go to 5 establishments of Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud (DIRIS) Lima Sur, chosen by convenience, sampling and its 10 most important alters. Results: It was associated with basic knowledge of anemia: higher education level of the mother (OR: 2.21 95% CI: 1.27-4.20), use of 2 or more social networks (OR: 2 95% CI: 1.20 -3.33), mother who investigates anemia in two or more sources (OR: 1.78 95% CI: 1.14-2.78), child diagnosed with anemia (OR: 0.33 95% CI: 0.20 -0.55). With knowledge about the duration of supplementation and anemia treatment, the following were related: diagnosis of anemia in the child (OR: 1.70 95% CI: 1.05-2.73), child receiving supplementation (OR: 2.02 CI95 %: 1.47-2.78) and anemia treatment (OR: 2.29 95% CI: 1.45-3.62).
Conclusions: The composition and structure of the network were not associated with the mother's knowledge of anemia. Likewise, the characteristics of the mothers were associated with a better knowledge of anemia, as well as the use of social networks. / Tesis
