The diploma thesis is focused on finding and evaluating growth and yield indicators for selected assortment of cornelian cherry varieties (Cornus mas L.). The evaluation took place on the grounds of ŠZP Žabčice in 2018-2019. The diploma thesis offers an overview of the history, origin, occurrence and demands of the environment and agrotechnics in cornelian growing. The literature review describes botanical characteristics, propagation, planting, harvesting, wide range of uses and evaluated varieties. Part of the practical section was to compare yields, internal and external features of fruits and content substances. Based on the evaluation, recommend suitable varieties that are optimal for growing in Czech Republic.
