In this study we try to identify the perceptions and possible areas of use towards ChatGPT in teaching Spanish in compulsory schools in Sweden. The data has been obtained from the responses to two surveys of 6 teachers and 69 students of Spanish, combined with the results of a classroom task focusing on the writing skill with and without ChatGPT as a tool. The results of our study show that the content of students' texts could be processed based on grammar, translation, spelling, and factual content using ChatGPT. There is also an interest from both students and teachers in using ChatGPT as an element in teaching and learning Spanish. Furthermore, it is concluded that the students' use of ChatGPT in the Spanish classroom and their responses to the survey show that lexis, spelling, grammar and information content are areas where ChatGPT can be useful to practice Spanish writing skills. / El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar las posibles áreas de uso y las percepciones hacia el ChatGPT en la enseñanza de español en la escuela básica en Suecia. Los datos se han obtenido de las respuestas de dos encuestas de 6 profesores y 69 estudiantes de español, junto con los resultados de una actividad de aula centrada en la habilidad de escritura con y sin ChatGPT como una herramienta. Los resultados de nuestro estudio muestran que el contenido de los textos de los estudiantes podría procesarse en función de la gramática, la traducción, la ortografíay el contenido fáctico mediante el uso de ChatGPT. Adicionalmente, existe un interés por utilizar ChatGPT como un elemento en la enseñanza de español, tanto por parte de los alumnos como por parte de los profesores. Además se concluye que el uso de ChatGPT por parte de los estudiantes en el aula de español y sus respuestas a la encuesta muestran que la traducción, la ortografía, la gramática y el contenido de información son áreas donde ChatGPT puede ser útil para practicar las habilidades de escritura de los estudiantes en la enseñanza de español.
