of the Speech Analysis from Michel Pechêux. It works on the hypothesis that in the period of
time from his position as a candidate to his real democratic election to President of Brazil
some significant changes had been occurred. That said, this research tries to explain the
speech mechanisms of the being used by him and also identify his social/political history
then relate them to the events which they are engaged. For that purpose, fragments of the TV
election period debates, interviews obtained during the previous week to the election in the
years of 1998, 2002 and 2006 and also some of his speech in the years of 2003 and 2007,
when he was finally elected. This chosen corpora for the following dissertation works with
the possibility of identifying the different beings assumed by the subject - the president
that can demonstrate those changes mentioned above toward his politic identity / Este trabalho consiste numa reflexão acerca do discurso político de Lula a partir dos
pressupostos teóricos da Análise de Discurso na tradição de Michel Pêcheux. Parte da hipótese de que ocorreram mudanças significativas no período compreendido entre a sua condição de candidato à Presidência da República e a de Presidente eleito do Brasil. Nessa direção, busca explicitar os mecanismos discursivos responsáveis pelas diferentes posiçõessujeito por ele assumidas e identificar as filiações sócio-históricas, relacionando-as aos
acontecimentos aos quais se vinculam. Para isso, foram analisadas formulações retiradas dos debates eleitorais televisivos e de entrevistas dadas para emissoras de televisão na última
semana que antecedeu os pleitos eleitorais de 1998, 2002 e 2006, bem como alguns fragmentos do discurso de posse de Lula dos anos de 2003 e 2007. O recorte operado que constitui o corpus discursivo desta dissertação trabalha com a possibilidade de identificar os diferentes lugares ocupados pelo sujeito-enunciador Lula que possam demonstrar mudanças de sua identidade política
