The research in organization of national health insurance
Preface
NHI(National Health Insurance) is a compulsory social insurance program with the entire population enrolled in the program. A fair share of risk-pooling and extensive collection of financial resource for NHI can be expected. All of the insured and dependents of the insured are entitled to receive comprehensive medical services in the case of illness, injury or childbearing after copaying a portion of medical cost. NHI not only eases the financial burden on the public but also provides health care to the insured.
The implementation of NHI program is the most remarkable social welfare in Taiwan.
