Sorghum belongs to one of the new energy plants. Thanks to its effective yield and increasing tolerance to cold it thus becomes an alternative to the main energy plant of today – maize. This thesis analyses productivity of biogas station in conditions of Highland, Czech Republic, using sorghum as substrate for anaerobic digestion. The feeding batch composed of mix of maize and sorghum produces 10 620 m3 biogas with costs of 1.89 CZK.kWe-1. The designed feeding batch composed of maize only produces under otherwise unchanged conditions 10 620 m3 biogas with costs of 1.69 CZK.kWe-1.
