O presente trabalho pretende analisar as mudanças institucionais na Matriz Energética Brasileira no período de 2001 a 2012, tentando evidenciar se os processos de evolução e inovação atribuídos novo modelo institucional estão condizentes com os conceitos teóricos da Nova Economia Institucional. Na análise empregada procurou-se adotar uma metodologia qualitativa, a fim de avaliar os impactos do novo modelo institucional sobre o setor elétrico. O trabalho almeja demonstrar que ponto os conflitos entre os agentes econômicos do setor energético tendem a afetar a busca pela eficiência produtiva / Abstract: The Brazilian electricity sector has been undergoing a process of restructuring, with changes in the institutional, financial, regulatory, etc. frameworks: changes are mainly focused on the formulation of energy policies and the regulation of the productive chain of the sector.
