Elektrifierade och energieffektiva transportsystem : Potentialen och förutsättningarna för en elektrifierad transportsektor

To make sure Sweden’s environmental goals get accomplished in time it is highly importantthat the transport sector gets electrified. But an electrification of the transport sector is not entirely free from problems. Moreover, to electrify the transport sector, one must make sure that the energy is enough for both the current businesses, estates, and the increasing energy need, estimated to 26 TWh, from electric cars. With the current capacity shortage in Sweden combined with an increasing energy demand, it is a risk of being a situation where the electrification inhibits the growth of the businesses. To avoid this stalemate, you can use electric cars for energy under peak demand. This type of system is called V2G or V2H depending on if the electricity transmits to the grid or to one’s home. Furthermore, there are simulations and calculations on the effect and power output of V2G in this report. The charging infrastructure needs development to make it is possible for an electrification. One company that develops their own charging infrastructure is Mälarenergi. They are going to install several charging stations on their parking lot outside their newly built offices: Navet. I will in this report submit a proposal on the way they should develop their parking, with which power the charging should occur and with how many charging stations they should have. The power that can be withdrawn from electric vehicles is depending on several parameters like battery capacity and the cars efficiency. The proposal is based on calculations and discussions with the head of sales from Mälarenergi, Johan Tonde. From a Tesla Model 3, you can get 18,5 kW for a time of four hours and from a Volkswagen e-up you can get 7,9 kW for a time of four hours. The proposal for Navets parking is divided into two proposals, one for today’srequirements and one for the future requirements. The proposal for today is 30 3,7 kWchargers and 6 11 kW-chargers. The proposal for the future is 50 3,7 kW-chargers and 6 22 kW-chargers. The conclusion is that V2G is a system that will probably have a great impact on the electrification of the transport sector. It will make the electrification easier and faster and make a future where the businesses growth continues parallel to the development of the electrification. This can later enable a future where Sweden becomes carbon neutral.
