Previous issue date: 2016 / This research aims to present the possible contributions of musical education to the development of the sense of personal efficacy on students belonging to the band of music Maestro Manoel Ferreira Lima of the military school of fire department Writer Rachel de Queiroz located in the city of Fortaleza. The objective of this research study to check the possible influence of music education in improving the academic achievement of these students, in order to verify the hypothesis that self-efficacy beliefs of individuals suffer significant influence of activities carried out by them in the band. In this way, this research will use as a reference the social cognitive theory of Albert Bandura. It is a qualitative research method which used shall be the case study. Data collection will be carried out through participant observation, document analysis and semi-structured interview and reflective. In terms of expected results demonstrate that the educational structures undertaken by the music band allows its members to build a solid belief of self-efficacy. / Esta pesquisa apresenta contribuições da educação musical para o desenvolvimento da auto eficácia de estudantes que integram a Banda de Música Maestro Manoel Ferreira Lima do Colégio Militar do Corpo de Bombeiros Escritora Rachel de Queiroz, localizado no município de Fortaleza - CE. O objetivo geral do trabalho é verificar e analisar a influência da educação musical no rendimento escolar. Busca-se confirmar a hipótese de que as crenças de autoeficácia dos alunos sofrem influência significativa das atividades desenvolvidas por eles na banda de música. Desta maneira, nesta pesquisa utiliza-se como aporte teórico a Teoria Social Cognitiva de Albert Bandura. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa cujo método utilizado foi o Estudo de Caso no qual os dados foram coletados por meio de observações, análises documentais, questionários e entrevistas semiestruturadas por Grupo Focal. Em termos de obtenção de resultados demonstra-se que as estruturas de educação musical empreendidas pela banda de música permitem aos seus integrantes construírem sua crença de autoeficácia.
