Previous issue date: 2017-03-02 / No século XX, costumou-se ligar o conceito de regional à ideia de homogeneidade, na qual eram cultivados mitos de origem, espaços de saudade, crendices, tradições, identidades estereotipadas. No entanto, a sociedade se modificou muito neste século e a literatura acompanhou esse processo, ainda que sem tanta notoriedade em seu diálogo com o regional. Atentos, igualmente, à mudança do conceito e à carência de estudos recentes sobre ele, buscamos, com esta pesquisa, aprofundar os estudos em torno da manifestação de uma das tendências da literatura contemporânea, a regional, a partir de duas obras do escritor Ronaldo Correia de Brito, Galiléia (2008) e Livro dos Homens (2005). Elas nos descortinam características da figuração do regional nas demandas da contemporaneidade, mostrando-nos que questões ligadas ao regional dos séculos XIX e XX foram redimensionadas, atualizadas, repensadas e até mesmo rechaçadas diante das multiplicidades desta Era. É o caso, destacadamente, do entendimento sobre o espaço, da passagem do tempo, do estado do ser humano. E, embora a estrutura da narrativa não seja tão diferente das do século passado, o indivíduo que narra e a aura do que é narrado demonstram as fragmentações do ser humano contemporâneo e de sua organização social. Nosso trabalho é iniciado com a discussão de conceitos e pensamentos em torno da contemporaneidade e de sua literatura, com enfoque final sobre a tendência regional. Isso para contextualizar a sociedade e a literatura em que se inserem as obras do corpus analisado, o que constitui o capítulo seguinte. Nele nos permitimos pensar temáticas que ainda são novidades no tratamento do regional, buscando delinear essa instância no contemporâneo, despojados de limites conceituais e parâmetros de leitura e tradição. No último capítulo, perseguimos o conceito de regional, tanto enquanto acessório para homogeneizar identidades e memórias de um povo, como enquanto figuração subjetiva que toma novo corpo e novo apelo no contemporâneo. Assim, arrematamos o tema do regional iniciado no primeiro capítulo, e aprofundamos teoricamente o que analisamos criticamente nas obras, na busca de entender a existência e o uso de regional nas urgências do século XXI. / In the twentieth century, it was customary to link the concept of regional to the idea of homogeneity, in which myths of origin, spaces of nostalgy, creeds, traditions, stereotyped identities were cultivated. However, society has changed a lot in this century and literature has followed this process, even if without so much notoriety in its dialogue with regional. Attentives to the change in the concept and to the lack of recent studies on it, we seek, with this research, to deepen the studies around the manifestation of one of the tendencies of contemporary literature, the regional one, based on two literary works by the writer Ronaldo Correia De Brito, Galiléia (2008) and Livro dos Homens (2005). They show us characteristics of regional figuration in the demands of contemporary times, showing us that issues related to the regional of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries have been resized, updated, rethought and even rejected in face of the multiplicities of this age. It is what happens, mainly, with the knowledge about space, the passage of time, the state of the human being. And although the structure of the narrative is not so different from that ones of the last century, the narrator and the potency of what is narrated demonstrate the fragmentations of the contemporary human being and his social organization. Our work begins with discussion of concepts and thoughts around contemporaneity and its literature, with a final focus on the regional trend. In order to contextualize the society and the literature in which the literary works analyzed are inserted, this constitutes the next chapter. In it we allow ourselves to think themes that are still new in the treatment of regional, seeking to delineate this instance in the contemporary, stripped of conceptual boundaries and parameters of reading and tradition. In the last chapter, we pursue the concept of regional, both as an accessory to homogenize identities and memories of a comunity, and as a subjective figuration that takes new shape and new appeal in the contemporary. Thus, we tie up loose ends the regional theme started in the first chapter, and we deepen theoretically what we analyze critically in the literary works, in the search to understand the existence and the use of regional in the emergencies of the 21st century.
