ABSTRACT My degree project has resulted in the improvement of the guidance in the dental center’s entrance. The patients will now find it easier to understand and find the environment’s various functions, which is the reception, registration, payment, and waiting rooms. Norrbottens läns landsting has a concept “hälsofrämjande väntrum” that provides guidelines for how they want their patients to experience their waiting rooms. I have taken some of these gudielines in use and applied these in the entrance. The methods I have based my collection of data is of the qualitative variety, obser- vations and interviews. The results of data showed that the spatial aspects such as color, shape, rhythm, and lighting has an effect on how we read of a spatial orientation. Guidance in healthcare settings will affect whether the patient experiences healthcare environment as safe or not. It creates stress and confusion if they do not understand how they can find the rooms funktions. My data showed a link between the natural and stress, that nature has an impact on reducing the stress in humans. This makes it important that our healthcare settings include the feeling that patients will find and attend a peace and security for their health care visits
