The aim of this diploma thesis is the mapping and analyzing of the availability of social services in the Vysočina region. Closer attention is given to the district of Havlíčkův Brod focusing on the evaluation of the scope, structure and availability of social services in this region. First the thesis presents the theoretical bases of the social system, in particular the historical development of the welfare state and its typology. After that follows a research focused on the comparison of the social systems in Czech Republic and Slovakia, France and Sweden. The last part deals with the characteristic of social services in Czech Republic, their financing and contemporary developments. The practical part focuses exclusively on the analysis of the availability of social services in the Vysočina region. Attention is paid to the capacity of services for defined population groups that are largely sufficient. To the disadvantaged groups belong drug addicts, homeless persons and people released from prison that are included in the group of people who are in a crisis. More detailed attention is given to the district of Havlíčkův Brod by evaluating the local as well as the capacitive and financial accessibility. The widest range of services is designed for seniors, disabled persons and people with an intellectual disability. Families with children, young people or other people in a crisis are struggling with poor access to social services. Most providers are concentrated in the former district town and other towns of the district catchment area. In some remote parts of the region, a sufficient supply of field and ambulatory services is not ensured.
