The subject of this thesis is the analysis of oligopolistic competition in the market of mobile telecommunications services in the Czech Republic in comparison with the neighboring country Germany. This thesis describes the behavior of companies in the telecommunications market in the Czech Republic and Germany and all members associated with them.
The theoretical part of the thesis describes and analyzes in detail the oligopoly models. Its structures are precisely defined and the differences between the various models explained. And also, this part focuses on the competence and activities of the Czech Telecommunications Office and the Office for the Protection of Competition. It shows the important changes that have occurred in recent years in the context of these organs came, showing in which direction the market is evolving and identifies tools to help authorities intervene in the competitive environment of the market.
In the analytical part there are characterized a specific telephone operators on the territory of the Republic with the focus on their rivalry with the problems of competitors in Germany, in order to predict the development in the near future. As a special area defined virtual operators and their specific market environment is defined relative to its specificity.
