Ověření početních stavů daňčí zvěře v zájmovém území Trojmezí

This thesis documents the history and current status of fallow deer breeding in the area of interest of the hunters' association of Trojmezí hunting grounds. The work also contains information about the origin of fallow deer population in the area, detailed record of killed and dead animals, including data on their age, weight, trophy value, and photo documentation of trophies and antlers found on the site. The thesis also keeps track of the number of fallow deer in the area since its establishment in 2008 till 2014. Comparison of the data concerning the number of the animals obtained by direct counting by the hunters with the population model based on the population change is also included. The number of fallow deer was verified by counting the faecal pellets on transects in the spring of 2014. The used methods were the FSC method (with no transects cleaning) and the CPM method (with transects cleaning) and the results were statistically evaluated. The FSC method set the fallow deer population density to 4,58+-3,5 animals/km2. The CPM method set the population to 5,52+-5,1 animals/km2. There was no statistically significant variance between the numbers of game set by the mentioned methods. In comparison to the number of animals spotted by the hunters, the method of counting droppings found approximately three times the number of fallow deer. The results are evaluated using charts, graphs and comments.
