This thesis deals with a portrait and its significance for a present human. It treats different conceptions of our ancestors. A research sample about the way how people handle family photographs and how they perceive the heritage of their ancestors is an integral part of the thesis. Some fine arts problems were proposed resulting in finding the way how pupils of primary schools and students of secondary schools were able to cope with a human face illustration.
