No. of bitstreams: 0 / O desenvolvimento da biotecnologia derrubou as fronteiras do conhecimento entre os continentes, alcançando resultados e avanços consideráveis em todos os campos de atuação, destacando-se principalmente a agricultura, onde os avanços biotecnológicos têm contribuído significativamente para abrir caminhos para uma agricultura moderna e altamente rentável. Portanto nas últimas décadas verificou-se uma preocupação crescente com questões ambientais em todo o mundo, principalmente decorrentes do acelerado decréscimo da diversidade biológica causado pela degradação do meio ambiente. Neste trabalho destacam-se o desenvolvimento da biotecnologia, seus impactos ambientais e impactos potenciais sobre a agricultura, especialmente no estado do Paraná nos últimos cinco anos. A abordagem metodológica foi fundamentada na teoria apresentada por BOGDAN e BIKLEN (1984) que defendem uma pesquisa qualitativa onde o investigador é o instrumento principal. Os resultados desta análise apontam para uma dificuldade na mensuração dos impactos ambientais causados pela evolução da biotecnologia agrícola, uma vez que a pesquisa, o cultivo, a manipulação, a industrialização ou a comercialização de produtos geneticamente modificados não é judicialmente autorizado no estado do Paraná. Entretanto pode-se concluir que a biotecnologia acarreta impactos potenciais, alguns desses benéficos ao meio ambiente e outros danosos, por isso essa é uma questão ampla e polêmica que traz inúmeros desafios à agricultura paranaense.
The biotechnology development overthrowing the knowledge border between the continents, obtaining the results and notable advances in all fields of activities. They are detached especially in the agricultural field, where the biotechnological advances have contributed significantly to open the way to a modern and high profitable agriculture. Nevertheless in the last decades was verified a crescent preoccupation with the environment questions in all around the world, principally current of the diversity deceleration by the environment degradation, allied with short time profit business and no sustentative practice of natural recourse use. This work is detached the biotechnology development, the biotechnology environment impacts associated with the potentials impacts on the agriculture, especially the Paraná State - Brazil during the five later years. The methodology was based on the theory of BOGDAN e BIKLEN (1984) which says that on the qualitative research the investigator is the principal instrument. In such case the annalist results indicate to a difficult computation of the environment impacts originated by the biotechnology agricultural evolution, once time the biotechnology isn't totally discharged in the Paraná State to the research because the culture, the manipulation, the industrialization nor the genetically modification products commercialization are legal. However in conclusion, the biotechnology represents potential impacts, some positives and others negatives. That's why this discussion is polemic and brings a real challenge to the Paraná State's agriculture.
