This thesis deals with the issue of public space and elements of street furniture. The aim of this thesis is to design a bike rack in collaboration with the leading Czech manufacturer of street furniture mmcité1 a.s. The design is based on a theoretical basis and takes into account the demands and possibilities of the manufacturer. The design is supported by comprehensive literature search of existing products on the market and by study of technological possibilities of selected materials. The thesis records the train of thoughts of the design development, its guidelines and its outcome. The ending of the thesis is creation of the technical documentation and production of prototype which reveals weaknesses in the final design and opens space for its improvement.
