Martinů, B.: The analysis of the beer industry in the Czech republic. Diploma thesis. Brno, 2014. This thesis describes the dimension and the development of the brewery sector in the Czech Republic according to the selected indicators. The theoretical part defines the development of the agrarian sector with a focus on the issues shaping the economic context of agribusiness. It also deals with the definition of an agricultural market and the characteristics of the food sector. And last but not least, the thesis describes critical connections and historical context of the development of the brewing industry. The work identifies the fundamental factors shaping brewery industry in the Czech Republic and in particular the development of this sector, with an evaluation of the changes that occur the analyzed period, with a description of causation. The work focuses on the factors conditioning the existence and successful functioning of the Czech brewery industry, such as the volume of beer produced, the number of breweries, consumption and foreign trade. The remaining part of the thesis analyzes the individual determinants of the market structure and follows up the categorization of the Czech breweries, the differences in their production and market strategies, such as concentration, entry barriers or competition strategies, and it is here where the whole commodity vertical of the beer production is defined. The gained knowledge can be further used to estimate the future development of the Czech brewery industry and also to anticipate the changes that may occur in this sector.
