The thesis is dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises. The subject of interest are small and medium-sized enterprises, which comprise the foundation of economy, drive the force of employment and economic growth. The aim of the thesis is to describe factors, which have impact on establishment of small and medium sized enterprises. The partial aim is to divide the countries of European Union into clusters that have similar characteristics. In the conclusion are drawn recommendations for representatives of economic policy directed to support of this field.
