In today’s JAS 39 Gripen E there is a central system that collects all failures that occur in the aircraft. Complex failures often generate multiple simultaneous alerts. This makes it difficult for the pilot to get an overview of the active alerts. Each alert has a number of actions that the pilot must handle. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and evaluate if it is possible to dynamically determine what actions must be handled by the pilot, regardless of the alert situation. In addition, flight safety must not be impaired, which requires that the system must have high reliability. High reliability means that the system must perform deterministic calculations for both simple and more complex problems. An iterative design process was used to develop a dynamic synthesis. Prototypes were developed based on feedback and 3 different machine learning algorithms were tested for the data classification. After the final prototype was considered complete an evaluation study was made on 6 different test persons. The result of the evaluation was that it is good to use color to amplify important information. The test persons also mentioned that the concept of a dynamic synthesis could decrease the workload for the pilots. To decrease the workload, the action texts need to be prioritized and displayed in the correct order. This includes rewriting the action text. For the merged list to be understandable, each action text must be self-explanatory. /
Examensarbetet är utfört vid Institutionen för teknik och naturvetenskap (ITN) vid Tekniska fakulteten, Linköpings universitet
