This study analyses how young women present themselves on social media, using Facebook and Instagram as their main networking tools. The purpose of this study is to find out how these women use social media, how they motivate their choice between Facebook and Instagram, how Facebook and Instagram create the needs for these women, and how these women decide the difference between Facebook and Instagram. Previous surveys from earlier studies regarding this topic have been collected trough books and internet. Semistructured qualitative analysis was used in this study to collect data from these women. The collected data gave a result that acknowledgement became a common endeavour of all the 7 respondents. Social media can contribute to something positive, such as keeping in touch with their loved ones, enhancing the self-confidence of individuals, and providing important information. Depending on the function of a social media, different individuals are turning to these social media to meet different needs.
