The new WHO-classification of Medulloblastomas lists one new entity of medulloblastoma, the anaplastic medulloblastoma with a variable prognosis. Other variants are the classic, the desmoplastic and the large-cell medulloblastoma as well as the medulloblastoma with extensive-nodularity.
The intention of this work is to figure out if the histopathological defined entities can also be distinguished by morphological criteria on MRI.
The data of 484 patients of the HIT-2000 data-base of the neuroradiological reference-center Würzburg were re-evaluated. Additionaly specific morphological criteria were checked. Those were a nodular or tubular enhancement, a honey-comb-like, reticular appearance and a milk-glass aspect on T2- images.
