A presente Tese tem por objeto de estudo o Mestrado Profissional em Matemática em Rede Nacional (PROFMAT). Para a análise realizada, tomamos como referencial teórico os conceitos de governamentalidade e discurso do filósofo francês Michel Foucault. Didaticamente, o texto está organizado em cinco Artigos, onde cada um se constitui em uma das fases da elaboração da Tese. Os trajetos percorridos, metodologicamente, junto as análises privilegiam o uso dos conceitos adotados em detrimento de sua explicação conceitual. No Artigo 1, a partir do entendimento de governamentalidade de Foucault, mostramos que o PROFMAT pode ser entendido como uma tecnologia de governamento, colocado em ação, a partir da racionalidade política contemporânea, caracterizada como neoliberal. No Artigo 2, buscamos nos documentos disponíveis no sítio eletrônico do PROFMAT – enquanto forma de governamento da sociedade contemporânea – informações que tratam da estrutura, dos modos de acesso – e de permanência – além de alguns resultados provenientes das avaliações realizadas pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior e pela Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática, orientado pela concepção de flexibilidade e autogoverno. No Artigo 3, apresentamos os documentos, que em diferentes movimentos, vão da criação do Mestrado Profissional até a constituição dos Mestrados Profissionais em Rede Nacional Nesse percurso, mostramos como ocorre a implantação dos Mestrados Profissionais na área de Ensino até a instituição dos Mestrados Profissionais em Rede Nacional, especificamente, do PROFMAT e, mostramos que essa modalidade de pós-graduação surge de uma demanda específica, que tem raízes em políticas públicas voltadas à educação. No Artigo 4, apresentamos os movimentos que nos permitiram selecionar os 19 Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) a serem analisados e que tratam da Estatística Descritiva, caminho esse permeado pelo conceito de governamentalidade de Foucault. No quinto – e último Artigo – a partir do entendimento de discurso como prática e do saber estatístico como uma tecnologia de governamento – analisamos as formas de usos do saber estatístico nas produções que sitiam seus discursos na Estatística. A análise desses TCC nos mostrou que o saber estatístico opera ora produzindo, ora reproduzindo saberes que posicionam sujeitos quando da sua relação com números, índices, taxas, gráficos e tabelas. Pensar nas formas de usos do saber estatístico e, na sua veridicção, postas em ação pelo discurso da qualificação docente, nos remete a pensar em como o saber estatístico operou/opera/operará regulando, conduzindo e governando as formas de ser sujeito na sociedade contemporânea. / The object of study in this Thesis is the Professional Master in Mathematics in National Network (PROFMAT). For the analysis, we take as theoretical reference the concepts of governmentality and discourse of the French philosopher Michel Foucault. Didactically, the text is organized in five Articles, each one constituting one of the phases of the elaboration of the Thesis. The paths traversed, methodologically, together with the analyzes favor the use of the adopted concepts to the detriment of their conceptual explanation. In Article 1, from Foucault's understanding of governmentality, we show that PROFMAT can be understood as a technology of governance, put into action, based on contemporary political rationality, characterized as neoliberal. In the article 2, the documents available on the PROFMAT website were sought - as a form of governance of contemporary society - information on the structure, modes of access - and permanence - and some results from the evaluations carried out by the Coordination for Improvement of Higher Level Personnel and by Brazilian Society of Mathematics, guided by the conception of flexibility and selfgovernment. In Article 3, the documents are presented, which in different movements, go from the creation of the Professional Master's Degree until the constitution of the Professional Master's in National Network. In this course, it is shown how the implementation of the Professional Master's Degree in the Teaching area to the institution of the Professional Master's in National Network, specifically, of the PROFMAT and, we show that this modality of post-graduation arises from a specific demand, which has roots in public policies focused on education. In Article 4, we present the movements that allowed us to select the 19 Works of Conclusion of Course (CCW) to be analyzed and that deal with Descriptive Statistics, a path permeated by the concept of governmentality of Foucault. In the fifth - and last Article - from the understanding of discourse as practice and statistical knowledge as a technology of governance - we analyze the forms of uses of statistical knowledge in the productions that besiege their discourses in Statistics. The analysis of these CCW has shown us that statistical knowledge operates either by producing, or by reproducing knowledge that positions subjects when it is related to numbers, indexes, rates, graphs and tables. Thinking about the ways in which statistical knowledge is used and, in its veridiction, put into action by the teacher qualification discourse, leads us to think about how statistical knowledge operated/operates/operates regulating, conducting and governing the forms of being subject in contemporary society.
