This essay describes an investigation done with reason of the imminent threat of the global climate changes and targets the swedish education of the arts in 2022. The purpose of the investigation is to clarify how some of the swedish art schools looks upon and manages environmental and sustainability related issues in their organizations. It validates the results from the perspective of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and identifies essential differences in the enviromental and sustainability work of the art schools. Initially, this essay briefly depicts the environmentally related goals of Agenda 2030 and the influence of the Swedish environmental law on the environmental and sustainability work of the art schools.Furthermore follows presentations of the national collaboration Klimatramverket and the art schools present environmental and sustainability work. The essay also contains an interpretation of the environmentally relevant parts of 2030:s Agendas goals for sustainable development and its meaning for art education. The result is then used as reference material towards the art schools environmental and sustainable work. The essay ends in a series of proposed political actions to boost equivalence, resolution and efficiency in the environmental and sustainability reformation of the Swedish art education and also presents topics for related future scientific studies.
