Previous issue date: 2013-08-29 / The theme of this thesis is the survey and discussion of indicators and sustainability
dimensions, addressing environmental and public health issues of rural populations.
The objective of the research is to analyze the log morbidities of cases that may arise
from poisoning from pesticides. This is a realized a basic health unit field research
located in rural Itapuranga - GO, during the period 2006-2010 and documentary
research on the economic, environmental and social indicators of the micro-region of
Ceres and the City Itapuranga, Goiás, in the 1991-2010 period. The survey found
that there was an expansion of the sugar and alcohol industry and that, too, was, in
the considered period, an increase in the number of pathological cases that may
have toxic etiology. The limits of the research, however, does not allow us to state
that the increase in cases of morbidities toxic etiology is directly related to the
application of pesticides on a large scale in the fields. / O tema desta dissertação é o levantamento e discussão dos indicadores e
dimensões de sustentabilidade, abordando questões de saúde pública e ambiental
das populações rurais. O objetivo da pesquisa é analisar o registro de casos de
morbidades que possam decorrer de intoxicação proveniente de agrotóxicos. Tratase
de uma pesquisa de campo realizada numa unidade básica de saúde localizada
na zona rural de Itapuranga GO, durante o período de 2006 a 2010 e de uma
pesquisa documental sobre os indicadores econômicos, ambientais e sociais da
Microrregião de Ceres e do Município de Itapuranga, Goiás, no período de 1991-
2010. A pesquisa constatou que houve uma expansão da agroindústria
sucroalcooleira e que, também, houve, no período considerado, um aumento no
número de casos patológicos que podem ter etiologia tóxica. Os limites da pesquisa,
entretanto, não permitem afirmar que o aumento dos casos de morbidades passíveis
de etiologia tóxica esteja diretamente relacionado à aplicação de agrotóxicos em
grande escala nos canaviais.
