Previous issue date: 2008 / The present text objective consists to identify, within a certain period of time, the agenda setting and framing processes in two major weekly national magazines: Veja e Época. The main purpose is to identify the culture of both publications and demonstrate fortuitous differences in this field between them. In order to support the readers, the text includes a revision of the main theories in the area; including, besides the two mentioned above, spiral of silence, gatekeeping and priming. At the same time we embedded to illustrate if these magazines were empowered to influence the public opinion and vice-versa. To do so, national polls were confronted to the political issues covered by the magazines. Those polls were made by IBOPE for the Brazilian Industry Confederation - CNI. / O presente trabalho tem por objetivo identificar, dentro de um determinado período de tempo, os processos de agenda setting e de framing em duas grandes publicações semanais de alcance nacional: Veja e Época. O escopo é identificar esses processos em cada uma das publicações e demonstrar as eventuais diferenças de cultura de cada uma delas. A fim de subsidiar o leitor, o texto traz uma revisão cultural das principais teorias desse campo, incluindo, além das citadas, espiral do silêncio, gatekeeping e priming. Ao mesmo tempo, busca-se ilustrar se essas revistas têm poder de influência sobre a opinião pública e vice-versa. O espaço de tempo, no qual as publicações foram analisadas, foi monitorado, concomitantemente, por pesquisas de opinião elaboradas pelo IBOPE, para a Confederação Nacional da Indústria - CNI.
