The complete thesis in print form is available from the University Library. / Eikenella corrodens, a Gram-negative rod, is a normal inhabitant of the human oral cavity. It is one of the most commonly detected cultivable bacteria from sub- and supra-gingival plaque and is often isolated in elevated proportions from sites exhibiting destructive periodontal disease compared with healthy sites.
