Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2014 The thesis deals with the distribution channels used by commercial banks. The first part draws from the expert literature and research papers and provides an overview of the possibilities of banking services distribution in various distribution channels. Specifically, it deals with the branch network as a typical distribution channel, franchised business locations as a new distribution channel and a network of independent intermediaries as an alternative distribution channel with a focus on retail products. The main part of the thesis evaluates the effectiveness of distribution channels and identifies the factors that have an impact on the sale of the selected banking products. Methodology work utilizes financial ratios of the financial analysis and the correlation analysis. Using these methods, the diploma thesis identifies factors influencing the efficiency of distribution channels. In the conclusion part, some recommendations for managing the distribution channels are proposed.
