Man behöver inte vara irriterad för att bussen inte går! : En studie kring militära observatörers inställning till livet. Blir det någon förändring?

In the literature it is not possible to find something about Swedish UN Military Observers (MO) experience of life is changing after their service. The aim of this study was to investigate if this has happened. The selection is of type “snowball”. Interviews were made with twelve MO by telephone, both male and female. Included was the question: Have your attitude towards life changed after your service? ”. Of the answers were done qualitative content analyses. In this process was found that you can categorise the answers in four categories: Development, humility, gratitude and frustration. All of the interviewed have mentioned at least one of the categories, most two, usually. It is possible to link these changes to the crisis and development theory. During the service the MO is going through a development crisis which results in these changes. The meaning of the study is that serving as an MO have changed there attitude towards life.
