The development strategy is one of the instruments supporting regional development of the territory and currently is being applied in most OECD countries. However, preparation and processing of a strategic document can not in itself. For the successful evaluation of a strategic document is essential the realization of its priorities and objectives. The presented work focuses on examining the factors that leads to the success of specific microregional strategies. The thesis discusses in detail the factors that can contribute to the successful fulfillment of the strategic plan and lead to the success of the development strategy and thus to the socio-economic position of the region where the strategy is implemented. The theoretical basis was tested on the example of two selected rural micro-regions. As a result of the work, it can be considered that the most significant impact on the success of the development strategy has a factor of human resources, which confirms one of the hypotheses stated. Another goalof the thesis is to find out how the municipal representatives and the chairman of the microregion perceives the success of the development strategy.
