Diploma thesis provides information on the current situation of regional policy options for drawing funds from the Structural Funds, Cohesion Fund and the marketing of towns and villages. The practical part focuses on the development of township Ševětín. Shows the ability to draw funds from the EU and national resources in one city. Gives a description of all projects for which applications were submitted before 2006 and after 2006. As part of evaluating the effectiveness of utilization of these resources and their contribution to development of the township. The most important chapter of this thesis is to design the project to construct swimming pool, which is needed in one city and promote tourism development in rural areas. Based on the results of the practical part the definition of priority areas that are important for the development of the township.
