Diploma thesis is focused on developmental possibilities of medicinal Cannabis cultivation in the Czech Republic. Theoretical part is based on the introduction about Cannabis plant throughout the history, its potential for medicinal usage, description of the active substances and their functions in the human organism. Furthermore, explanation of the initial impulses about legalization of Cannabis for medical usage in the Czech Republic and the development in the following years is given. In order to analyze and identify the opportunities, strengths, weaknesses and threats of the development of Cannabis cultivation and its processing for medicinal purposes in the Czech Republic, a commodity chain description, STEP analysis and a Porter model of five competing forces were made. The findings are interpreted by SWOT analysis, on the basis of which recommendations were proposed.
