"Because of the interest of her reading public in Robb White's books, the writer in search of a topic for a Master's paper, decided she would like to know more about his life and works. Such a study was felt to be worthwhile in that it would give opportunity for the compiling and assembling, in the absence of adequate biographical and bibliographical materials, those data on White that do exist. Furthermore, it would contribute toward bibliographic competency, an essential in librarianship, and it would serve as a technique to be employed in the future in giving background information on authors of other children's books"--Introduction. / Carbon copy of typescript. / "February, 1957." / "Submitted to the Graduate Council of Florida State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science." / Advisor: Robert G. Clapp, Professor Directing Paper. / Includes bibliographical references (leaves 68-78).
