Previous issue date: 2018-06-07 / This research had as its main goal to make an analysis of the Epistle of James, contextualizing the historical understanding of justification and salvation by faith, and the theological consequences of the relationship between faith and works for a practical and significant Christianity. It comprises three chapters. The first one presents the background to the Epistle of James in order to situate its reading and discussion in chapter 2, which deals with the issue of faith and works by establishing its meaning in the Bible and in the Epistle of James. Chapter 3 deals with a Christian way of life based on the exhortations of the Epistle so that the brethren live a practical faith that is coherent with their discourse, and valuable to personal relationships and charity. / A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar da Epístola de Tiago, contextualizando o debate histórico da justificação e salvação pela fé e as consequências teológicas da relação fé e obras para um cristianismo prático e significativo. Está dividida em três capítulos. O primeiro apresenta o contexto da Epístola de Tiago, a fim de situar sua leitura e discussão que se fará no capítulo 2, que trata da questão da fé e das obras, estabelecendo seu significado na Bíblia e na Epístola de Tiago. O capítulo 3 trata de um estilo de vida cristã embasado nas exortações da Epístola para que os irmãos vivam uma fé prática e coerente com o discurso, valorizando as relações pessoais e a caridade.
