e Estudos da Linguagem at PUC-SP. In this work, we examined the discursive
contexts of science in articles of the magazine Superinteressante and in texts of
Biology textbooks from the Systemic-Functional Grammar (Halliday, 2004 and
Halliday & Mathiessen, 2004). Among the several possibilities, the interpersonal
metafunction was chosen as a linguistic research for the analysis of the
participants relationships through their lexical-grammatical choices looking at
the writer and the reader s interaction, at how the participants are named and at
how they names themselves, at the roles given to them, and, still, we talked
about the pedagogical character, according to Bernstein (1984, 1990, 1996 and
1999) and Christie (1998, 2002 and 2005). For the Applied Linguistics which
investigates the language role in the construction of the social reality, it is
essential to understand the meaning constructions possibilities and the
interpersonal relationships, observed through the writing. Similarly, it is
important to study the relations between teaching and learning in these contexts
and to them, since we think of strategies and conduct methodological more
suited to the characteristics of such language. The methodology adopted was
Corpus Linguistics, counting on the usage of WordSmith Tools software (Scott,
2003). The results showed us that each discursive context has a set of
functions themselves, which are specific lexicon-grammar choices, according to
the constituent elements of each gender, according to Martin (1984, 1989,
2000, 2003) and Hasan (1989, 1995, 1999, 1996c) / Esta pesquisa está inserida no Projeto DIRECT (em direção à linguagem do
trabalho), desenvolvido no Programa de Estudos de Pós-Graduação em
Lingüística Aplicada e Estudos da Linguagem PUC-SP. Neste trabalho
analisamos os contextos discursivos da ciência em artigos da revista
Superinteressante e em textos de livros didáticos de Biologia, a partir da
perspectiva da Gramática Sistêmico-Funcional (Halliday, 1994 e Halliday e
Matthiessen, 2004). Dentre as várias possibilidades, a metafunção interpessoal
foi eleita como recurso lingüístico para a análise das relações entre os
participantes por meio de suas escolhas léxico-gramaticais, observando a
questão da interação entre escritor e leitor, como os participantes se nomeiam
e são nomeados, que papéis são atribuídos a eles e, ainda, discutimos o
caráter pedagógico, conforme Bernstein (1984,1990, 1996 e 1999) e Christie
(1998, 2002 e 2005). Para a Lingüística Aplicada que investiga o papel da
linguagem na construção da realidade social, é fundamental compreender as
possibilidades de construção de sentidos e de relações interpessoais
observadas através da escrita. Da mesma forma que, é essencial estudar as
relações entre ensino e aprendizagem nesses e para esses contextos, uma vez
que precisamos pensar em estratégias e condutas metodológicas mais
adequadas às características desse tipo de linguagem. A metodologia adotada
foi a Lingüística do Corpus, contando com o uso do software WordSmith Tools
(Scott, 2003). Os resultados mostraram-nos que cada contexto discursivo
possui um conjunto de funções próprias, realizado por escolhas léxicogramaticais
específicas, de acordo com os elementos constituintes de cada
gênero, segundo Martin (1984, 1989, 2000, 2003) e Hasan (1989, 1995, 1999,
1996c)
